Happy Earth Day!!!!
(We're a little late with our celebration, but better late than never!)
Last Saturday, April 22nd, was a day that our entire country celebrated earth day. We've been talking a lot in our classroom about what we can do every single day to help. Such as: recycling, using less water, use less energy, plant trees, donate things we don't use any more, don't litter, etc.
The biggest thing we learned was that small hands CAN make a difference!!!
Today, the 1st Graders got to experience and learn more about what we can all do to help protect our planet. We had a variety of earth day activities like talking to a representative from the Recycling Center, watching a puppet show by Smokey the Bear, decorating bags for Hugo's showing our support for recycling, hearing from a bee keeper, and talking about why "I Need the Earth."
We had a LOT of fun ( we like fun in 1st grade :)) and one message that we would like to pass on is that we can all do our part to make a difference. We only get one earth, so let's take care of it!!!!
Make EVERY day earth day!!!
